The early models of the diesel 2010 Deere were no prize. However the last year of production was much improved but the damage was done to the name. Deere to thier credit, rapidly pulled the 2010 from the market and replaced it with the fine 2020 etc whose excellent decendents were built at Dubuque and Mannheim Germany up to the 55 series in the early 1990's. The early versions of the 5000 and 5010 series of Deere utility tractors should have cost some engineers and executives a demotion to yard care and janitorial work around the factories. IH has cost a pile of farmer a fortune in money rebuilt T/A's and final drives. More grief than Deere's two market blunders.
