I bleed green so my answer is biased but look at the resale value of used machines. Farmers vote with their dollars. I won't claim that John Deere equipment is always better than other brands but their parts availability and service is. I buy older used equipment so parts and service are the most important consideration for me. By the way I have run a 1086 and a 4440 and prefer the 4440 in every way.
