This is one of the biggest problems with plugging in diesels to start them. Water is wam enough for the engine to start but none of the other fluids are. Seen a LOT of bad hydraulic and transmission problems where people didnt follow the mfg instructions on warm up times. Most of the tractors I have worked with call for at least 15 minutes of warm up time at 50% throttle before use in bitter cold even if plugged in to ensure adequate lubrication. Proper p.s. function would be a side benefit of a longer warm up. Pump rebuilds arent too bad, run about $100 if the body isnt scored. If it is the $350 or so runs about right for a new after market pump.
