y brother has a boat that runs on diesel. He told me that slimy organisms grow in the fuel and it requires a precisely measured additive to slow that growth. Another man re-fueled his boat and added too much additive, killing the "algea" which then fouled his fuel filters while at sea causing him much grief. Don't know if kerosene is subject to this same growth.
