Diesel gums quicker than gasoline. There is an oxidative function to deal with in both products. Go to the internet and type in ASTM D 525, this is a standard test to measure product quality in terms of storage and aging characteristics. Be sure you are buying gasoline that has an add pack in it. These add packs do significantly reduce fuel aging.The cheap or low priced gasoline and diesel won't have it. I run a fuels testing lab and we are constantly getting aged gasoline and diesel samples, so I can give you some real world commentary on the subject of fuels and lubes..
