Michigan just went to a permanent trailer registration. Price varies with weight of trailer. Example, my 5x7 utility trailer used to cost $16 per year - cost $75 this year! The $75 is a minimum fee, and depending on the weight of trailer, goes up from there. Wife's 2000+ lb. crank up camper also was $75. Nasty is that if I sell the trailer, the plate is null and void, and If I replace the trailer with a new one, it's a new plate and another $75. If I trade cars, I can transfer the plate for a small fee. OUCH!
