Dave: You are right about the WD-40. I don't think we can compare those Lantz and the like. Euorpeans did have diesels before the WD-40 but not in tractors.

Many of those direct starts guys are talking about weren't quite as direct as they make it sound. Yes, Deere and Cat had their pup starts, but really that is what WD-40 was as well. The others had to maintain a good tow chain.
