Massey Harris introduced the 55 Diesel in 1949 and John Deere the 'R' also in 1949. I think Massey brought out the 44 with a diesel engine just after the war- could be 1946 or '47. Cockshutt also produced a few 30's with a diesel engine which I have heard was around 1948.
