Not totally sure about a 555 but on all other earlier Masseys, it was hand-stamped into the upper machined surface of the transmission case between the cast iron shifting platform (supports shift lever) and the steel plate covering the differential gears. It's there on the left side near the location where the clutch pedal is when it's fully in the out position. The numbers are big but sometimes not too deep so you'll have to wire brush the area. As I said, I'm not totally sure about the triple-numbered Masseys. There are casting dates on the bottom of the Transmission/differential housing, those will give you a date when that casting was poured, probably pretty close to the tractor model year but not necessarily spot on.
