paul: I had a Farmall 300 axle twist about 1/5 turn, and not break. Wheel was dished in and out on end of axle. I ran the tractor for about 6 months that way and replaced axle. I then dished wheels out. Dealer was suposed to do that before delivery. Dad had said he wanted 72" centers and with double bead rims you could achive that with wheels dished in.

I broke two axles on a 100 hp Deere, with ROPS cab, but even with that it was a rough ride both times. It was a forestry skidder articulated, same rear ends as 4020 but with a flange axle. Rear axles on those took a beating as logging arch would pickup 5 ton.
