Hi Butch, I have an early '50s military generator set that uses a 4 cyl Hercules engine. The manual states the plugs to be Champion XEJ-11. They are the fully metal-jacketed, screwed-on connection type that were required for special radio shielding. Your sound like they might be similar. I note at this site that the XEJ-12 replaces the XEJ-11. I think the 12 is the next hotter plug up in the Champion series. Here's another site that gives some additional information. I've never replaced mine. The engine has less than 100 hours on it and runs fine. At some point I guess I may have to think about it but I will likely just try and find a standard plug replacement and eliminate all the shielding. Here's hoping yours is something similar and the links assist your search. Good luck. They seem to be $$$. Rod
