I've got a Savage .17HMR Model 93R17 FVSS. I've used it a few times on prairie dogs. I like it, but I'm not getting rid of my .22-250.
It's illegal, in Texas, to use a rimfire on deer. I read somewhere that the .22LR is the round of choice for poachers, though.
