I almost always plow som going forward and with the blade at an angle. that way I can plow faster to trow the snow off to the side. In deep snow the snow will start to pile up on my rear wheels. I fixed that by adding a plow off of a pickup truck to the front of my tractor also. Any time you push backwards with a 3 point blade you are putting a lot of stress on the balde and the tractor.
