What you are describeing sounds like the old controllers. before all the electronics if you have a computer in the truck they are not recommended. now back to what your are asking. do you have a steel line from the master cyclinder into the back of the controller? you have the old old style one wire comes from the batt into a circuit breaker 20 amp (get it at napa) one wire goes to ground and one wire goes to that sliding spring or reostat from the raostat it goes to the brake wire to trailerhope this helps.......Jer
