I hail from south central Kansas. Our snow arrived starting about 8 p.m. on Tuesday. By 9:30 the wet sticky snow was breaking tree branches and downing some power lines. I think just service entrances, but some 2200 residents lost power, some all night long. We had a total of 6 inches of snowfall. It was beautiful with it covering the trees, power lines, etc. Yesterday I put my chainsaw to use at the neighbors. I came home with three tractor scoops full of firewood. They got several piles of branches which the city will pick up. The streets are almost entirely clear already since the soil temperature had finished last week at 61 and melted it off quickly. The 6 inches of snow yielded .89" of moisture.
