First off you want/need live PTO saves a lot of headaches, also makes it safer. Next depends on what you like or cost, I like a heavy hog. I cut a lot of small trees and a heavy one seems to stand up better. Also depending on land etc. A trike tractor works very well because of being able to turn faster but isn't good on hilly ground. I use an Oliver 77 for my place has the power and live PTO. but no 3 point. I have both tractor and hog for sale now, tractor is an Oliver77 and brush hog is 6ft and its a true brush hog.
