Quite often the cylinders on the older loaders appeared to be double acting when in fact the front portion of the cylinder was used as a reservoir for hydraulic oil because the tractors hydraulic system did not have enough capacity for operating a loader. The oil that was returned to the front of the cylinder was not really under any great pressure, and the seals may not stand up to the pressure created when used as a double acting cylinder. I am not saying that your idea won't work, but you may want to verify that it will work before spending a lot of money on control valves and such. You may find it less expensive to find a later style loader.
