You said it only does it every once in a while so it could be dirt in the oil preventing the drainback valve from closing completely. A check would be to see what the oil level is after parking overnight and if the converter drained half of it's 8 quarts of oil back into the transmission it should show an excessively high oil level in the transmission. Normally the trans has about 4 quarts of oil while the converter holds about 8 quarts for a total of approximately 12 quarts. How long has it been since you have changed out all 12 quarts of oil? I don't recommend the oil flush processes but rather remove the trans pan and converter drain plug if there is one to drain the 12 quarts. Also replace the filter / strainer as well.
