When I was a kid, I remember pa rigging up the front tires on our old deer for plowing snow. What he basically had was a thick chain (like a bicycle chain) that was about the same size as the tire. He would deflate the tire enough to get the chain centered on it, and then re-inflate the tire to hold the chain in place. That thing really gripped good for turning! Very easy to make one at home too.
