I have an older skidsteer (bobcat model M600) with a wisconsin VF4 engine. This is a three part manifold system. My manifolds are pitted and wore from constant leakage of exhaust gas. My thought is to clean the surface and apply brazing to the mating surface, then flat file the surface, apply new gaskets and gasket sealer. Anyone have other suggestions or experance in improving the seal at worn, pitted cast iron joints?? By the way, the system is such that I can not remove much of the material before I will have problems with fitting the three parts back together. I would rather build up the surface and then machine it down to flat than just machine a new surface. Thanks for any comments
