The 4 cylinder plants ran at 1200 RPMusually
but some of the big ones were up to 1800
RPM. They are exceptionaly dependable and
can run on only 2 or 3 cylinders and still put
out their full capacity. Depending on the
muffler used they could also be very quiet.
These put out 120 volt and often were capable
of being set for automatic starting when a 40
watt or more light or appliance was turned on.
Generally they were 12 volt ( two 6 volt
batteries in series ) or sometimes even 24 volt
( two 12 volt batteries in series ) for starting
and control.
Can you guess we used them for years?
