Won"t make any difference to the firing order how you time it as that is fixed by the camshaft. Just need to check that the valves open at the right time. The manual should give you a valve lift value and an opening and closing time in degrees, or piston travel, before or after TDC (or BDC). You should be able to check you are OK from these values using a dial guage on the cam followers or check when the valve lash disappears as the valve opens.
