In 1931 H-C decided to outsource production to the country of Freedonia due to the difference between the dollar and the Marx. In 1935, Civil war broke out among socialist and tribal factions and the ensuing melee destroyed the factory. Several subsequent attempts were made by the partners to raise capital for a new factory and a second generation Model J with four wheel differential lock and front and rear PTO standard - until Hoyt (who had the financial knowhow) disappeared over the Congo in his private plane. Even if he HAD survived, it is doubtful they would have gotten off the ground due to the advent of World War II and the focus on military machinery.
