I rebuilt the MS carb on my Oliver 550 a couple months ago. Tractor starts good and runs great. My problem is after it has sat for a day or two. It starts ok but runs out of gas after a couple minutes and won't restart unless I tap on the carb a couple times. It will then run fine for the rest of the day. I am thinking the Viton needle valve is sticking to the seat and will not let gas flow into the bowl until I tap on the side of the carb. Both the needle and the seat are new. This carb did not have that little clip between the needle valve and the float. I am thinking I may have to make or come up with one of those clips. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
