John,RAB is telling it like it is.The neutral safety switch is in my opinion the most important feature on your tractor.I've worked on and around tractors since i was a kid.I myself have gotten on tractors and attempted to start one that had the switch bypassed or otherwise disabled.It is not a good feeling when one suddenly starts and runs over something.Something could just as easily be somebody.There are many tractors out there that have to have the shifter jiggled to activate the switch.Most operators get use to it and live with it.If its too aggravating to put up with have it repaired.Whatever you do don't bypass that switch.The well being and possibly the life of yourself and others could be in danger if you do.This safetey feature was put on this machine for your saftey and the ones around you also.Many a tractor has been started in gear and crushed someone.A few dollars are a small price to pay compared to someones life.
