Sell on you terms - you did fine. I suspect it is hard for folks to keep up with the internet world where you can't trust anyone. I come from a smaller town where a check is good for anything. Go to an auction & forget the checkbook, and you can take the item home anyhow, mail the check later. Banks are open until 8:00pm one night a week so people on shifts have a chance to do their banking (happens to be Monday in my town, it's Thursday in the neigboring town I believe....) Go to a big city (perhaps where the wife works?) 45 minutes away & the bank has a branch in Cub Foods - open until 7:00 or 9:00 every day, some hours on Sunday too - full banking there. I can draw $200 a day out of the ATM, so could raise cash that way, but might not get $750 by the deadline...... Around here when people ask for cash, they mean a check.... So, there is a good chance your buyer was on the up & up, & just is confused by your changing rules and lack of trust, and a bit put off that you don't trust him at all.... But, your sale, your rules, so you did fine. We live in a cold heartless world these days, everyone needs to adjust. Technology has made it too easy to fake documents of any kind. --->Paul

The colony remained far from self-supporting and it was not until the early 1800's that things started to improve. Free settlers started to arrive, they followed the explorers across the mountains and where land was suitable set up farms. T
