We had a young deer catch it"s rear leg in the top two strands of a fence as it tried to jump it. He remained there overnight before we noticed.
I rushed him to keep him from further damaging himself, and lifted him free of the fence. Carried him to the front yard and fed/watered him for a few days until he could recover. He actually became pretty calm.
What did the kids name him?
John Deer.
