The Michigan Supreme recently reversed its landmark "Poletown" decision. This was the 1981 case that allowed the city of Detroit to level an entire Polish neighborhood so that General Motors could build an assembly plant there. I was surprised that this received very little press, even though it really opens a can of worms for all of the Michigan cities and counties that have been using the Poletown precedent to justify their land grabs.
