1955 cub p.t.o. pully size

The 1955 int. cub I own has a 5 foot belly mower on it ,It does cut grass pretty well but at times the 5 foot deck is a lot for the tractor,would increasing the size of the p.t.o. belt pully help at all, presently it is 8 inches
