M Tractor

Can someone tell me about an IHC M that I have purchased. The seriel number indicates it should be a mid 40"s model. The Tractor has 2 fuel tanks. I small and one Large. I know it means it should be a diesel however there is no Fuel pump on the Tractor and the big tank has Gas in it. I figured it was the same system as my Super W-D 6 however it is not. Please let me know how this works and if this tractor is worth what I paid for it. $2000 was the price. It is in good shape and has a wide front. I appreciate your response. Forever Red, John
