They did put a crankshaft sensor on it before they realised the pump was out.
you mentioned the lift pump on the frame rail? Are you speaking of the fuel pump in the tank?
I am considering just having everything put back together on the truck and bringing it home and doing it myself. I have a cousin that is a GM tech and can probably get help in putting it in.
I would like to keep the truck but this sure has left a bad taste in my mouth.
