from what i can remember of are old 494 we're talking 25 years ago here now ..is the tongue was fastened with 4 bolts u could remove the bottum two bolts and tongue would swing up for storage so u could take all four bolts out take tongue off for transport on your trailer leave the rest of the planter whole chain er down and go there was a stand that remained on the planter after tongue removed perhaps take the seed boxes off simple job markers could be shortened or removed and take off the drive chains also simple job greasy one tho :) Good Luck
