3500 ford backhoe

I just bought an older 3500 ford backoe for upkeep around my 30 acres. I can"t seem to find much information available on the 3500 ford? Where is serial number? How can you tell year? general info, etc? Are they not that common? It"s in pretty good shape, but I would like to learn more about it , history, and upkeep?
