It is very possible there could be some short term drops in the future. But over the longer run, 10 years for example, you will see the price continue to increase. You say $300-$500 land in the 80's is now $3000-$5000. I'd say that is not a bad return, so what if it took a $50-$100 tumble in there somewhere? The last 40 acres I bought, I could have made a $2850 per acre profit on in less than 90 days but I suspect that would have been a drop in the bucket compared to what profit I can make in say 40 years.
