I did this same conversion about a year ago. I believe the terminal marked "R" on your alternator needs to be connected to a source of switched power. This means it needs to be connected to a place in the wiring harness that becomes hot only after the ignition switch is turned to the on position. You should wire the ignition switched "+" back to the "R" terminal, not the "F" terminal. The "F" terminal on the alternator needs to be connected to a source of constant power. It needs to have power going to it all the time, even when the tractor is just sitting. The "F" terminal can be wired to the bat. terminal right on the alternator or to any other spot in the wiring harness that is constantly hot. Hopefully this helps out some. If the alternator is wired properly, you should be able to check the voltage at the battery when the tractor is running and get a reading of about 14 volts. Hopefully this helps some, keep me posted!
