I read the below (both sides) with interest. If you will can I please ask a couple of questions? I only know a little about this issue and as some say a little knowledge can sometimes be dangerous. 1. I was one of those that had a carb damaged by alcohol blended gas. But I was told that what really caused the damage was methanol not ethanol. When my damage occured both were being used. Now methanol is no longer used only ethanol. Isn't methanol the problem instead of ethanol? 2. Isn't ethanol a substitute for MTBE (I think I got the letters right) the additive that the government has mandated to reduce a form of air pollution? The MTBE is getting into the groundwater and is very damaging while ethanol is not. Just a couple of questions and something for all to think about. later slim
