Don't know how much you got to chip, but I just bought a Troy-Bilt 6.5hp, 3" rated for $574 delivered. Hasn't arrived so I can't tell you anything yet.

I was looking for a chipper for adding wood chips to my compost for my garden and running the garden waste thru. I have free acess to short pieces of pine about 2" to 3" splits about 12" long or so that I want to run thru the TB chipper.

My SIL brought home a borrowed unit last year that was only 5hp and it did just great for what I needed.

I'm with the others on the mower. To many mods to make it useable as a chipper.
