MD's aren't real popular pulling tractors and Deere never made a diesel A. I think they're playing with the governors so they don't open the throttle blade in the carb completely. Most pulling clubs allow 10% over OEM RPM so on an M they use the 1595 no load RPM so about 1750 RPM... so they get 44 HP at 1450 full load RPM but can pull 100+ HP on the dyno at 1750.
