A week ago today here in NE SD we had a freeze that took out about 20,000 acres of soybeans in our county. Because of the cool dry weather up to then, the beans are not even good for forage due to small, unfilled pods.
I guess the old Native American was right when someone asked him why he thought it was going to be a early, hard winter. His reply was: "Bad winter coming, because I see Whiteman hauling heap much hay!"
