Thanks for the reply. One of my friends works for a John Deere dealer and looked it up for me in an old 5010 book. Aparently the first year or two, the 5010's only took 12 quarts of oil--which is the case with our tractor. It was later changed to the 5 gallons of oil. Thanks again!
