Farmall Super A

I have a 1948 Super A which I left sitting up for
a couple months and the clutch is stuck and will not release. I tried pulling it with the pedal pressed in but that didn't do the job.
I can see that there is about 1 inch of free play in the rod.
What is the best way to make the clutch release again?
