The oil for the rocker arms comes from the second cam bearing. There is a passage that is drilled in the block up to the surface of the block. Then the oil goes up to the head around the second head bolt back on the rocker arm assembly. There is a enlarged area around the bolt in the head gasket so the oil can get from the block to the head. If the head gasket is put on upside down the oil can't get from the block to the head and then the rocker arms don't get any oil.
