Truck Trader has advanced search options specific to looking up trucks (truck style and weight class), Auto Trader lets you search for more specific details (engine type, transmission type, fuel type, number of doors, etc...).

It sounds like you just want a work truck that isn't going to be used for transportation. I think you're on track looking at that 3/4 ton GMC. You appear to be loyal to GM, which I won't try to talk you out of. However, I'd decide if I want a diesel truck or a Chevy/GMC first, because I've heard very few nice words about GM and their diesel trucks. On the other hand, Cummins is a known, proven brand and the International engines in the Ford trucks also have a pretty good track record. A GM gas-powered truck would probably be pretty good though.

What I'd look for:
3/4 ton; 4x4 would be handy at times; 8' bed preferred for a working truck; Gas if GM, Dodge or Ford if diesel

What I'd avoid at all costs:
GM with diesel; Ford with E4OD automatic transmission

I've been shopping for a used truck in Ohio for the last few months, so I know there are a lot out there to choose from (depending what you're looking for). Good luck, and be sure to try those online search engines -- they can turn up some nice trucks.
