I think you missed the point about TA. I had a lug nut the service tech could not remove due to a) woefully inadequate tools for the intended job
b) inexperienced service tech
c) suspect it was X-threaded when tires rotated The point is not whether or not I have good TRUCK tires and me beating TA out of some money. I am running BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires with less than 20K miles on them. I know, I know due to geographical conditions and driving habits it's hard to provide a specific mileage expectancy but I would expect more than 20K. My point is I had a lug nut that took a Truck Stop service tech over 7 hrs. to remove so I could install my spare BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tire. I can only imagine if I were a commercial driver broke down and service truck shows up with 3/8 ratchet, wood chisel and 12oz ball peen hammer. As to my trailer tires I usually run used light truck tires given the minimal hauling I do. I accept that responsibility and I prepare for emergencies including appropriate payment as needed. Know this, my tool kit will now have a 18" PIPE WRENCH, cold chisel, 2.5 -3# small sledge hammer.
