You can use a moldboard plow the more bottoms the less trips you will make. If using say a three bottom you will go one way then back to the end andput the furrow wheel between the first and second furrow of the first round then back to the end and repeat by putting the furrow wheel between the first and second again and again untill the desired height. We built them this way in the early fiftys and used to help others do it also. Had a small sight level to help.
