Two 12V batteries in parallel will give you double the amps. Be sure to use real battery cables, like 1/0 cable with soldered full copper terminals, not auto parts store junk cables. I make my own with parts from http://www.madelectrical.com/ or he will make them for you. NAPA has a premimum line of high amp batteries. I've had one in a tractor for 9 years and can't kill it.
