You say you think you have a 7000? A 7000 should have a turbo. From what I read in your post, you have a 5200 with select-o-speed trans. Same basic chassis as the 7000, but less hp, about 70. Now, the pto turns all the time. This is probably because the pto brake isn't functional. I can't remember if yours has a pad or band, but it wears out, or, it could be in the control valve. Sounds like the torque limiter clutch sheared the rivets in the hub. Could be other things, but that would be my first guess, from the grinding noise you describe.
