Close to 40 years ago I was driving a '52 JD A back to the field with a flat rack wagon in tow. Loading out sod. Mike was riding the RH fender when the RH wheel walked off the axle. How we never noticed it coming I do not know. When the axle went into the muck, we stopped rather abruptly. Mike was pitched forward over the pulley, hit the ground running & didn't stop to look back till some distance was between us. I don't recall leaving the seat, just yanked that clutch back. No injuries, no damage, just a little lost time & a pointed reminder to check out your equipment & no seat = no rider.
