Ridding yourself of it - well, the seed is viable in the soil for 30-50 years, so you will not be _rid_ of it. But in grass crops (including corn) there are many products that really take it down. Banvel/ Clarity does it for me - N and a crop oil sure help, and hit them younger rather than when they are older - most broadleaves you need to spray the very crown, just hitting lower leaves only burns off those leaves but the stem & plant will struggle through. 2,4D works, not as well, but for cheaper. Many other broadleaf killers will. These products do not need a licence in _my_ state, I won't speak for yours. In a broadleaf or legume crop, the choices are bit more difficult. Several good ones, but gets real specific as to timing & which product with which addtives. Are these a biannual or a perannual, I forget, but either way they store food in their root system, so killing off the top doesn't mean it's dead - it takes several years of working at it to be rid of 95% of them, and then you need to keep working on the 5% or they will come right back in. Roundup does work on them, but if a large plant you need a heck of a rate & it probably won't seep into the root system at that stage, so you will need to repeat often. --->Paul
