OT: How do you KILL Wormwood Sage?

The "Poison Ivy / Oak" question below reminded me to ask the same advice on Wormwood Sage. How in the heck do you kill this crud? We've sprayed yearly with 2-4-D Ester, spot sprayed with Roundup, mowed it, weed wacked it...and it still comes back. I just came in the house, from walking the fence line and cutting it off at ground level with a hand clipper! There has to be something more effective than an old, overweight beer drinker sweating away at this stuff! Thanks in advance for your good answers.
